Sustainability
I've always loved vintage...the way it feels, the way it looks, and the incredible designer pieces that have stood the test of time. I'm in awe of collections that people still search for years later because they were just that good.
As I began creating Betty & George, I realized all of the new sweaters in my closet felt a little flat. I loved the feeling of something that had been lived in.
Something with soul.
I wanted the ease and character of vintage, but in a new luxury sweater. That's when it all made sense. If Betty & George was going to be inspired by vintage, recycled cashmere wasn't just an option it was the only choice.
Our recycled cashmere retains the softness, warmth, and luxurious feel that make cashmere so beloved while giving exceptional fibers a second life. Our yarns are made from a blend of pre- and post-consumer recycled materials and are supplied by partners certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS).
By choosing recycled cashmere, we're able to reduce our reliance on traditional cashmere supply chains while extending the life of existing materials. It's one small way we're doing our part to reduce waste, lessen our environmental footprint, and create products with future generations in mind.
I've spent my career creating products that I hope people will wear for years, not seasons. Pieces that become favorites, live in your closet, and are passed on over time.
For me, sustainability isn't about creating more. It's about creating better.
