People often ask me where the name Betty & George comes from.

Betty and George were my Nana and Papa and two of the most important people in my life growing up.

My sister and I have countless memories with them. They spoiled us, loved us endlessly, and made us feel like the center of their world. My parents understood how special that relationship was, and no matter where they lived, we always found a way to be together.

Even after they moved away, we would fly to visit them and spend weeks at a time with them, often missing school because being together mattered more.

One of our favorite things to do was dress up in Nana's closet. Everything was glamorous.

She had the most incredible collection of party clothes, jewelry, shoes, and wigs, and we would spend hours creating our own fashion shows and photoshoots. Nana would laugh, take Polaroids, and spoil us with candy and snacks we were never allowed to have at home.

Long before I understood fashion as a career, I understood the joy, confidence, and individuality that clothing could bring.

Looking back, it must have been woven into our family in more ways than I realized.

Some of my favorite weekends were spent shopping with my parents. They taught my sister and me to appreciate the details, the quality of a fabric, the way a garment was constructed, and the little finishing touches that made something truly special.

Long before I entered the fashion industry, they taught me to value quality, thoughtful design, and buying pieces you would love and fawn over for years.

Shopping with my Papa was another adventure I loved. He would patiently sit outside the dressing room while my sister and I tried on clothes and shoes, never rushing us for a second.

I can still picture him sitting there smiling, waiting for us to come running out and show him what we'd found. He loved seeing us excited almost as much as we did.

Afterward, we'd wander through Saks and Neiman Marcus while he searched for his favorite Ferragamo shoes and crewneck cashmere sweaters.

“Once you find what you love, buy a dozen,” he always said.

Looking back, I realize he was teaching me something much bigger than shopping.

The love of fashion.
The appreciation for quality.
The confidence to wear what you love.
And the emotional connection we have to the pieces we keep.

When I began creating the brand, I knew I wanted a name that felt personal. A name rooted in family, memories, and the people who shaped me.

Betty & George became the perfect expression of that idea.

Every sweater carries a little piece of them with it.

In many ways, Betty & George isn't just a brand.

It's my tribute to the two people who first taught me the joy of getting dressed.
