I created Betty & George because of something I couldn't find in my own closet. Over the years, I'd collected everything I loved...vintage Levi's, slouchy trousers, many, many blazers, designer shoes, and special pieces I'd searched years to find. But every time I got dressed, something was missing.

Not because I couldn't find one. Because I couldn't find one that made me feel the way the rest of my closet did. After decades of designing, merchandising, fitting, and refining product, I knew exactly what I was looking for.
I wanted a sweater that felt cool without trying too hard.
Sexy without being overdone.
Polished without feeling precious.
Easy enough to throw on with vintage Levi's, tailored trousers, over your shoulders, or layered over a dress simply making your outfit feel complete.
I found myself reaching for old vintage sweatshirts. They weren't perfect, but they had personality. They felt lived in, relaxed, and effortless. That's when it hit me. What if I could capture that feeling in recycled cashmere? Not a precious sweater. Just a great one. One that makes you feel incredible the moment you put it on.
